HAPPENING NOW! 28 active wildfires burning in Northern Alberta, Canada. Animals need help asap!

PLEASE DONATE ASAP for the animals!

The wildfire situation worsened overnight in northern Alberta, doubling the number of evacuees to over 10,000.

There are currently 28 active wildfires burning in the province—nine of which are currently out of control. The Chuckegg Creek wildfire is now 230,000 hectares in size.

Evacuations are expected to double overnight in northern Alberta! We are very concerned about the pets we know people have left at home, in their garages and back yards, when they evacuated. There are volunteers who can check on pets and ensure they are safe, watered and fed. We need to send supplies asap! Please donate now!

Following areas are affected:

Town of High Level and Mackenzie County areas south and southeast of town.

Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement.

Hamlet of Marten Beach.

Wabasca, the Bigstone Cree Nation and Chipewyan Lake Village.

Keg River, Carcajou and residents living in the northern border of the County of Northern Lights. Bushe River, Meander River, and Chateh, Sandy Lake.

We can help rescue these animals with your help.

The American Red Lion Disaster Fund will continue to work aggressively to provide supplies for the animals suffering or abandoned by the floods by identifying and providing supplies and funds to the credible, boots on the ground local shelters and hospitals who are providing for their urgent rescue and care.

American Red Lion has earned The Great Nonprofit badge since it’s inception, as well as the Gold Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the nation's leading nonprofit rating organization.
